Volunteers are needed for all Youth Activities. Take a look through the offerings for SJB Youth and if anything jumps out, contact Peter and volunteer. Otherwise, here is an overview of how you can volunteer with SJB Youth Ministry.
YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES
Youth Ministry Advisory Council
Develop leadership skills and help to guide the future of SJB Youth Ministry! Meets four times a year.
Peer Ministry: Youth to Youth
Help lead other young people in being a follower of Jesus! Whether it’s working with younger kids or your own age group, this is definitely an exciting group to volunteer for. Peer ministers include catechists for GOF and 7D8 and the Chat Room.
Justice and Service
Volunteering to help the poor and vulnerable is an important part of our faith. Join us for regular service opportunities around the Mankato community. Other regular service opportunities are also available at St. John’s.
Fundraising
Whether it’s selling hotdogs, running games for kids, clearing tables or being a part of the annual Follies Dinner Theater, we have a lot of fun ways to help raise funds for SJB Youth Ministry!
Prayer and Liturgy
At various times throughout the year, SJB Youth have special roles in parish liturgies, some of these include World Youth Sunday, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, and Graduation Masses. If you are interested in being involved in the planning of and/or the implementation of the liturgies please sign up. Roles can include Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Musicians, Dancers, Actors, Ushers, etc.
Communication
Volunteer to help get the word out to your friends and peers! Whether you call, email, text message, or hang-up posters, you’re a communicator and this is a great place for you to volunteer!
LIT Band
This group is a new addition to our music ministry in the Fall of 2011. Young people grades 7-12 are invited to participate as singers or instrumentalists. Share Christ through the prayer of music.
