Faith Formation Grades 1-5

Picture

The St. John’s Faith Formation program for children in Grades 1-5 will happen primarily within a hybrid model both in the home (virtual online learning) and here at the church campus (in person learning every other Sunday). In order to teach and guide a child in the faith, we walk with them using the “Discover! Finding Faith in Life” and “Go! Seek! Find!” curriculums, along with The Catholic Children’s Bible. St. John's parish, staff, and volunteers will serve as support beacons to parents and guardians as the faith is passed on to the children.  Family formation, community connection, and support will be offered throughout the entire program year.

St. John’s has selected curriculum that introduces youth to Jesus in a FUN way. “Follow the fun” is one of our mottos! We strive to create an atmosphere where kids learn through faith-filled fun experiences that will foster feelings and desires of their own to truly want to be here to explore more about Jesus and the teachings of the Church! Our curriculum will be shared by both you, the parents or guardians, along with our team of caring volunteer teachers, co-teachers, subs, and helpers as your child dives into Bible stories, discovers and connects with Catholic teachings, and is called to age-appropriate action.

We encourage every Faith Formation family to attend Mass here at St. John’s weekly as part of the formation of your child.

Attending Mass as a family is vital and oh so important in fostering a deeper faith and relationship with Jesus at a young age.
Our Mass times are Saturdays at 5:15 PM and Sundays at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM (which is why we plan our Sunday School classroom time to be between the Masses at 9:00 AM).

ST. JOHN’S MISSION: “With the Holy Spirit pouring the love of God into our hearts, we invite people to Christ by living like Christ through prayer, service, and LEARNING.”

Everyone is invited and ALL are welcome to be a part of our Faith Formation program here at St. John’s. Any questions, please connect with Jill Cusick, Director of St. John’s Faith Formation and Coordinator for Grades 1-5.  Thank you!
